The word “door” (delet in Hebrew) is mentioned over 80 times in the bible. In Revelations 3:20, Yeshusa said: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock…” That is Yeshua’s position; He stands at the doors of our hearts and lives, and He knocks.
“…if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”
Yeshua continuously stands and knocks, but He says only those who Hear His voice and open the door for Him will get to dine with Him. He is not only knocking, but He is also calling us to open. He will not barge in through a closed door that we have not opened for Him.
When He says that if we hear His voice and open for him, He will come in and dine with us; the meaning of dining in the middle east is an intimate act of sharing not only a meal with someone, but your personal space, time and life with that person. To allow someone into your home when you open the door and offer them a hand of protection and friendship, it’s a sign of deep and close relationship, like family.
That is what Yeshua is doing in your life — He is standing and knocking at the door of your life, and He calls you to hear His voice and open the doors of your life for Him.
My prayer for you is for the Lord to help you hear His voice and to be ready to open the door on which He knocks, so He can come in and have an intimate exchange with you, as family.
