Devotional with Pastor Israel: Comfort Each Other

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Devotional with Pastor Israel: Comfort Each Other

The word for mercy in Hebrew is רחמים “rakhamim,” and the word for comfort is נחמה “nekhama.” These are beautiful words that convey deep truths about the character of God. God has invested His “rakhamim” and his “nekhama” in our hearts so that we might in turn be channels through which God’s mercy and comfort can flow to other people.

How often have we not seen God’s overwhelming mercy and comfort in our own lives? Its worth is immeasurable and has carried us through tribulations so many times. It truly is a beautiful thing to meditate on God’s amazing and meticulous work in our lives. As a shepherd’s rod and staff comfort his sheep, so are we comforted by our Shepherd, Yeshua, the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep.

Every day as we rise, let us lay hold of everything that is ours in Yeshua by faith. The blessings of God aren’t just intended for us, but also for those with whom we come into contact within our daily lives. Wherever we go and whomever we speak with, let us speak words of life and blessings, being an extension of God’s kingdom and love.

Be encouraged, dear friends! Your life, your words, and the fruit you bear is bringing change into the lives of those around you. You might not feel like you’re having a victorious day, but God is working through you to His glory. Your life is a testimony of the saving grace of Yeshua! Remember, you are a blessing! You are blessed to be a blessing for His kingdom, for His glory, and for His people.

Prayer:

Baruch Ata Adonai, Eloheinu Melech Ha-Olam, I thank you for your comfort “nekhama” and mercy “rakhamim” that enable me to walk in victory in every situation in my life. Help me to continually be aware of your presence in my life and help me to be a channel of your mercy and grace to everyone around me.
I pray this in Yeshua’s name.
Amen
