In Hebrew, the word lev (pronounced just as it is spelled) means heart, but not just the one that beats inside your chest. In the Bible, your lev is the very center of who you are. It’s where your thoughts live, where emotions stir, where choices are made, where faith begins—and where Yeshua wants to dwell.
God doesn’t just look at your actions; He sees your true heart. The real you. Your lev matters to Him more than anything else.
📖 A Heart That Shapes Your Life
“Above all else, guard your heart (lev), for everything you do flows from it.”
Proverbs 4:23
That’s a powerful truth. Everything—your words, decisions, relationships, even how you respond to God—flows from your heart. That’s why Scripture tells us to guard it carefully. Not with fear, but with intention and faith.
🕊 What Lev Really Means
In today’s world, we often connect the heart with feelings. But in the Bible, the lev is much more than emotion. It’s the control center of your life.
- It’s where you think:
“As a man thinks in his heart (lev), so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7 - It’s where you decide:
“Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” – Psalm 95:8 - It’s where you feel conviction:
“David’s heart (lev) struck him…” – 2 Samuel 24:10 - It’s where you come to know and understand God.
Your lev is where Yeshua knocks, waiting for you to open the door. He’s not after surface-level religion—He wants your heart; the messy parts, the broken parts, the hidden parts; all of it.
✝️ What Yeshua Says About the Heart
When Yeshua walked the earth, He didn’t just deal with outward behavior; He spoke directly to the heart. He said: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” – Matthew 5:8 and also “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:21
Yeshua understood that transformation doesn’t start with rules—it starts with the lev. That’s where real change happens.
❤️ How’s Your Heart Today?
Let’s be honest: how’s your lev right now?
Is it worn out?
Pulled in too many directions?
Hungry for something deeper?
Or maybe just quietly longing for peace?
Whatever it is, you don’t have to fix it before coming to Yeshua. He already knows. He’s not intimidated by your mess or your questions. He came because of your heart. He came to heal it, restore it, and fill it with His love.
In Ezekiel, God gives this beautiful promise:
“I will give you a new heart (lev chadash) and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
Ezekiel 36:26
And through Yeshua, that promise comes to life. He gives us a heart that feels again, a heart that loves again and a heart that lives fully connected to God.
🙏 A Simple Prayer:
Yeshua, here’s my lev.
You see it all—the strong parts and the struggling parts.
I invite You in. Soften what’s become hard. Heal what’s broken.
Make my heart pure again.
Let my life flow from a heart that beats for You.
Change me from the inside out.
🇮🇱 Blessings from Israel
May your lev be filled with peace today—not the peace the world gives, but the deep, lasting peace that comes from knowing Yeshua is with you, within you, and for you.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart (lev), and do not lean on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
And remember the words of Yeshua:
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in…”
Revelation 3:20
Open the door of your lev. He’s waiting for you.
Blessings,
