One of the most significant biblical feast of Israel, Purim, is upon us! Purim tells the story of Esther, a young Jewish girl who 2600 years ago was chosen to be the wife of the Persian king, Ahasuerus, during a time when the Jewish people of Persia were threatened with annihilation. With the encouragement and help of her uncle, Mordecai, she risked her life appearing before the king to plead for the people of Israel, uncovering her identity as a Jew, confronting and revealing the plan of destruction of the Jewish people and the evil man behind it, Haman.
The book of Esther is not only a profound lesson to us all as believers, especially here in Israel, but it is also a prophetic book very much relevant to us today. When Israel’s very existence is threatened daily, then it is our time to rise up as the “Esthers” of this world and stand in the gap for our people. We as believers here in Israel and all over the world know that we have been called into this royal calling “for such a time as this…” (Esther 4:14) – to stand before the King on behalf of our nation, until we see that “all Israel shall be saved.” (Rom. 11:26).
Purim is a time of celebration and joy in Israel, with Israelis going about dressed up in beautiful and colorful costumes and uniting in joyful festivities. Remembering God’s deliverance of His people is always a cause for a celebration and rejoicing!
It’s also a wonderful opportunity for us as Believers to reach out to Israelis in difficult and desperate circumstances by providing their needs and showing them the love of Yeshua by reaching out a helping hand. You can bless Israelis in spiritual and physical need this Purim by donating to one of our Purim projects listed below:
Israeli Soldier Gift Hamper: For a donation of 90 US dollars you will be providing an Israeli soldier with a care package containing toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, shaving razors, healthy snacks, non-perishable food items, underwear, socks, coffee and other day-to-day essentials. These soldiers are on duty over Purim and will not be able to celebrate the festival of Purim at home with their families. Let’s show them how much we appreciate their service for the security of Israel!
Toy-and-Candy Baskets: For a donation of 30 US dollars you will be providing a needy child with a Toy-and-Candy hamper for Purim. These baskets are so popular with the children, and they were so thankful for these baskets during last year’s Purim project. Let’s put a smile on their precious faces!
New Jewish Immigrants Project
For a donation of 60 US dollars, you will be providing a family of new Jewish immigrants with a care package of nutritious and non-perishable groceries and household items. Let’s help them to celebrate the festival of Purim with abundance and dignity!
Thank you for standing with us this Purim and for blessing the people of Israel!
Thank you for blessing the nation of Israel!
