Some of the most powerful moments in ministry do not begin behind a pulpit—they begin in ordinary conversations. A shared meal, a kind word, a simple invitation to talk. Often, it is in these quiet, unplanned moments that God begins doing His deepest work.
Recently, we met a young man named Andrey, a Ukrainian refugee whose path to Israel came through pain and uncertainty. Like many others, he left Ukraine to avoid being pulled into the war, carrying with him the emotional weight of everything he had seen and lost. Friends had suffered. Some had died. The future felt unstable, and like many displaced people, he arrived not only looking for safety, but searching for something deeper—though he may not have had the words for it at the time.
Over time, Andrey began joining several of our outreach projects and gatherings here in Israel. At first, he mostly listened. He stayed on the edges, watching, observing, and taking in the atmosphere around him. There was no pressure placed on him—only consistent kindness, genuine care, and a space where honest conversations could happen naturally.
Little by little, something began to change.
What started as simple curiosity slowly became openness. Through relationships, conversations, and the quiet work of the Holy Spirit, Andrey began to see his life differently. One day, he said something that deeply stayed with us:
“I believe God loves me… and that He has a plan for my life.”
No one tried to force that conclusion on him. It was something he discovered for himself. Through kindness, trust, and the truth of God’s Word, he began to recognize that his story was not simply about escaping war—it was about being preserved for a purpose. That God had seen him, protected him, and was pursuing him long before he understood it.
Romans 2:4 reminds us that “the kindness of God leads you to repentance,” and we see that truth come alive again and again here in Israel. Hearts are rarely changed through argument—they are changed through love, patience, and the steady faithfulness of people willing to walk alongside others.
In that space, Andrey made the decision to pray a sincere prayer of repentance and turn his heart toward God.
It was a simple moment, but one with eternal significance. Today, he is hungry to know more, open to truth, and beginning a new journey of discovering who God truly is.
Stories like Andrey’s remind us that ministry is often built one relationship at a time. One conversation. One act of kindness. One person willing to listen.
As Scripture says,
“One plants, another waters, but God gives the increase”
1 Corinthians 3:6
Our role is simply to be faithful—to show up, to care, to speak truth with love, and to trust God with the results.
This is the heart of our mission.
Through outreach projects, discipleship, and everyday moments, we are building bridges—meeting people where they are and creating space for real encounters with God. Every small moment matters. Every conversation can become a doorway to transformation.
Andrey’s story is still unfolding, but it began the same way so many life-changing stories do—with kindness, with truth, and with someone willing to simply be present.
And through that, God is changing lives.
