Maayan Eilat Messianic Congregation was founded in 2008 by Pastors Ariel and Yael Ben David with a vision to establish a strong community of believers in Israel’s southernmost city.
The congregation began simply, with a small group meeting together in a home. As the community grew, a larger place was needed, and over the years Maayan Eilat developed into an established Messianic congregation serving believers and families throughout the Eilat area.
In 2011, Maayan Eilat was officially registered, marking an important step in the development of the congregation and its work in the community.
At the heart of Maayan Eilat is a desire to share the Good News of Yeshua and help believers build strong foundations in their faith. Through regular congregational gatherings, Bible teaching, prayer, discipleship, and fellowship, people are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God and become mature followers of Yeshua.
Special attention is also given to children, young people, and families. The congregation seeks to provide a spiritual home where different generations can worship together, build meaningful relationships, and grow in their understanding of Scripture.
Alongside its congregational activities, Maayan Eilat carries out humanitarian work within the local community.
Through practical assistance, the congregation serves people facing difficult circumstances, including Holocaust survivors, elderly people, single-parent families, and others in need. Humanitarian assistance is provided according to need and without regard to a person’s faith, background, or participation in the congregation. No religious participation or response is required in order to receive assistance.
This work is particularly meaningful in Eilat. Located at Israel’s southernmost point and separated by considerable distance from the country’s major population centers, Eilat has its own unique community needs. Maayan Eilat is locally rooted, allowing its team and volunteers to build relationships within the city and respond practically when individuals and families need support.
The congregation’s volunteers play an important role in this work, giving their time and energy to care for people in the community and help strengthen the life of the congregation.
From its beginnings as a small home gathering, Maayan Eilat has continued with the same desire: to build a healthy Messianic community in Eilat, make disciples, strengthen families, raise up the next generation of believers, and faithfully share the hope found in Yeshua.
Today, Maayan Eilat continues to serve as a spiritual home for believers in Israel’s far south, with a heart for its city and a vision to see a strong and growing community of faith established there for generations to come.
