Ashkelon is a coastal city in southern Israel, not far from the Gaza Strip. Life here has not always been easy, especially during times of war and rocket attacks. But Ashkelon is also home to many families, including Jewish immigrants who have come to Israel from different parts of the world.
Beit Hallel Ashkelon is part of the Beit Hallel network of Messianic congregations led by Pastor Israel Pochtar. Our local congregation, led by Pastors Eitan and Yulia, brings together Jewish believers who love Yeshua and want to grow in their faith.
We meet regularly for worship, prayer, Bible teaching, and fellowship. Some people have been believers for many years, while others are still taking their first steps in following Yeshua. Our desire is to help each person grow in their relationship with God and become part of a caring congregation.
Helping People Grow in Their Faith
Discipleship is an important part of our work in Ashkelon. We want people not only to hear God’s Word but also to understand it and learn how to apply it in their daily lives.
Our discipleship courses bring together people of different ages and backgrounds. We study the Bible, talk about questions of faith, pray together, and encourage one another.
We also have a Music and Worship School, where children and adults learn to develop their musical abilities and use their gifts in worship.
Throughout the year, we organize special gatherings, celebrations, and activities for different age groups. These are opportunities for people to spend time together, build friendships, and support one another.
Helping Families in Ashkelon
Many people in Ashkelon are struggling financially. This is especially true for some new immigrant families, elderly people, and those whose lives have been affected by the war.
Through our humanitarian ministry, we regularly provide food packages and other essential items to families who need help. In recent months, we have been assisting around 100–130 families each month.
We also keep in touch with many of these families, listening to their concerns and doing what we can to help with practical needs.
Our humanitarian work is available to people regardless of their background or beliefs. We simply want to help our neighbours and show them that someone cares.
Looking Ahead
We are thankful for the people God has brought into our congregation and for the work He is doing in their lives.
Our hope is to see more people in Ashkelon come to know Yeshua, grow in their understanding of God’s Word, and become part of the congregation.
We also want to continue supporting families who are going through difficult times, investing in our children and young people, and helping members of the congregation develop their gifts and serve others.
There is still much to do, and we are grateful for everyone who stands with us in prayer and support.
