A Special Pastoral Retreat in Cyprus

Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

Hebrews 13:17

Those who think being a pastor is easy haven’t read this scripture. The responsibility of being a pastor is similar to the responsibility of being a parent. Our flock, our congregation, and our community are our family. We are responsible for them as pastors, and God will have us give an account of those whom He has entrusted to our care.

A pastor’s calling is rewarding yet challenging. God said in the same verse that a pastor’s work could be a joy as well as a burden, one that could potentially cause them to be of no benefit to the flock.

Offering local Israeli pastors who face tremendous challenges ministering in Israel an opportunity to be refreshed, recharged, and restored in a safe and nurturing environment should not be considered a luxury. It is a necessity. A time and place to be quiet with God and soak in His presence are essential to refresh the minds and spirits of those under the tremendous pressures of today’s world.

Understanding this is why we set out to organize the retreat in Cyprus, where we will be taking 74 pastors to Cyprus for a unique pastoral retreat that will take them away from their daily worries and duties, allowing them to submerge in God’s restoring presence.

Thanks to your generosity, we have raised $5,000 out of the $7,600 needed. With only $2,600 remaining to cover the cost for the last few Israeli pastors, would you consider investing in them, providing them with the much-needed opportunity to be recharged as they carry on their shoulders the great responsibility of shepherding the people of Israel?
