Our focus has been on displaced families and soldiers fighting the intense battle in Gaza. However, the West Bank is a dangerous place to be right now! The brave soldiers serving to protect the citizens in the West Bank often are overlooked. We saw this as a unique opportunity to share the love of Christians with those who have never experienced it before!
Like Gaza, the population of the West Bank consists almost entirely of Palestinian Arabs, however, there are about 700,000 Israelis living in settlements there. Because this area is so close to the border, Israel maintains a military presence, although a smaller one than in Gaza. We felt the Lord was leading us to visit these soldiers, to bring aid, comfort, and the message of hope.
We loaded our vehicles with mattresses, bulletproof vests, food, and other basic necessities in order to bless the soldiers serving there. We were able to tell them about YOU, Christians who supported them. We shared it was YOU who purchased all the much-needed items, and YOU are praying for them. They were amazed! They had never heard of Christians helping Israel before.
This opened a door for us to have many good conversations. We shared Bible prophecies including the one that said Christians were called to provoke the people of Israel to jealousy (Rom. 11:11). In this manner, ALL of Israel will be saved (Romans 11:26). That prophecy being fulfilled today!
Thank you for standing with Israel in this dark time. It is through your love they can see the love of God. As this war continues, we believe we will be given more opportunities to share the message truth and hope with the Jewish people. Your prayers and gifts make this happen!
Partner with VOJI to be a blessing to Israel. We are called to be a light that shines in the darkness. Let them see the light through your love. When we bless Israel, we will be blessed ourselves! (Gen 12:3)
