Mixing the Old and New
The atmosphere is highly charged with excitement during this time of celebration. You can almost feel the old mixing with the new. Ancient traditions are infused with beautiful modern ones to make Rosh Hashanah a truly unique holiday in Israel.
Celebrating Rosh Hashanah in Israel is quite a big deal. It is the beginning of the Jewish New Year (5784), and we go all out to make sure it’s an extra special, memorable time. Our Rosh Hashanah celebration this year was bigger and better than ever before.
This year, we felt led by the Holy Spirit to organize an amazing celebration and invite hundreds of families to experience the timeless traditions and customs of the High Holidays. Most of the families in attendance were new immigrants who had recently come to Israel. We felt it was important to give them the tools and knowledge of their heritage, so they can begin their first steps in their ancient homeland knowing the traditions of their ancestral roots.
Our team was fully committed to making this evening a night to remember. We wanted all the families to leave with unforgettable memories and hearts touched by God. Pastor Israel took time to deliver a powerful message about the true meaning of Feast of Trumpets and how it all ties to Yeshua. Many were surprised to learn that Yeshua was a Jew just like themselves and how He fulfilled the ancient prophecies written about Him in the Old Testament.
The feedback we received from the people who were genuinely touched by this powerful Word was astounding! Most of them know the traditional aspect of Rosh Hashanah, but to have the Word of God come alive when sharing the true significance of the feast was something that left no one untouched.
We are blessed to have these opportunities to share Yeshua with our brothers and sisters in Israel. Many have never heard the message of Salvation through His atoning blood. What an honor to bring glory to the Kingdom in such a profound and life-changing way.
Thank you for partnering with the VOJI ministry to bring the message of hope to the hurting and lost. Because of your generosity and kindness, we are reaching hundreds with the Good News of Yeshua. Please continue to pray and support VOJI to make a difference by spreading the gospel throughout the land to reap a harvest worthy of our King.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!
