Anzor’s Story – From Darkness to Light!

Anzor’s Story – From Darkness to Light!

During our most recent street evangelism, we were blessed to meet a very special man named Anzor. He had made Aliyah from Georgia several years ago and was still acclimatizing to life in Israel. We began to share with him about who we were and our faith in Jesus. We each gave our personal testimonies and how we came to the saving knowledge of Jesus.

Anzor then shared his story, telling us how his son died a year and a half ago when he was only 30. It was evident that Anzor still carried great sorrow from this seeing that he did not smile and seemed very broken.

One of our team members, Chaim, shared with Anzor how the Lord had brought him out of a deep depression. The darkness had become so overwhelming that he could no longer laugh or enjoy his life, but his entire life changed after meeting Jesus and praying for Him to come into his heart.

We invited Anzor to consider praying with us to receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior, to which he happily agreed. We then prayed the prayer of repentance to invite Jesus into his heart. After receiving the Lord, he seemed like a totally different person. He was smiling and proclaimed that he felt overwhelming peace and relief. Afterward, we exchanged phone numbers and invited him to our congregation. He expressed that he would love to come and join us. All Glory to Jesus!

We, as a team, are so encouraged by this powerful testimony and seeing how Jesus returned hope and joy to this dear man. It matches perfectly with what is written in Isaiah 61:1:

The Lord has appointed me to preach good news to the poor. He sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
