Ethiopian Aliyah Project
For 2,000 years, since the time of Christ, Jewish people have been disbursed across the globe. DIASPORA is the exile of Jewish people from their country, which consequently spread them all over the world. The prophecy of a Biblical return to Israel is happening today and is bringing the displaced back to their homeland. Jews from around the world are making Aliyah (immigration to Israel) to return to their roots in Israel. This has created quite the melting pot of ethnicities after 2,000 years of scattering.
Ethiopians are among the Jewish Olim (immigrants) making Aliyah to Israel. They are a special community and have faced much hardship, especially in recent days with so many trying to make their way out of war-stricken regions in Ethiopia and seeking a new home in Israel.
One of our leaders at Beit Hallel is Tes, an Ethiopian Jewish brother who made the difficult journey of Aliyah very young. He has used the challenging experiences of his life to work closely with Olim from Ethiopia. Tes is an absolute blessing to our congregation.
“3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Tes helped us realize that 55 Ethiopian Jewish children who recently arrived were lacking school supplies. The families of these children arrived with barely anything and faced sending their kids to school for the first time in Israel without all the necessary things school children require to succeed. However, Tes arranged for their needs to be met through a Back-to-School project like we did in Ashdod.
Your generosity helped provide for so many children this summer to start the new school year. God multiplied the blessing poured upon those in Ashdod and also met these Ethiopian Jews right where they needed to be shown God’s love the most. Tes and our whole team was so deeply touched to see their overwhelming gratitude in receiving this blessing. It was all thanks to YOU. You helped send kids to school fully equipped!
We thank the Lord for you and what He is accomplishing through your loving and generous heart. These children are beginning their new school year in their new life in a new country knowing they are loved and cared for by dear friends like you. THANK YOU!
