Broken Pieces

The Russian missile that tore through Lea’s Ukrainian neighborhood had left her with more than just physical destruction. It had shattered her sense of security, identity and belonging. Seeking a new life, Lea turned to her ancestral roots, making the prophetic journey to Israel as a Jewish immigrant. Yet, as she navigated the unfamiliar streets of her new homeland, Lea couldn’t shake off the feeling of displacement, her dreams of renewal hindered by the harsh realities of cultural adjustment, language barriers and the haunting memories of what she left behind. Lea carried the broken pieces of her past with her when she moved to the Holy Land.

Yearning and Learning
Lea’s search for spiritual truth began long before she ever arrived in Israel. She yearned for meaning in life. Her emotional baggage was apparent. Leaving those precious memories behind broke her heart. The physical toll from her move to Israel led her to Voice of Judah Israel’s event at our ministry, Beit Hallel. You support such events when you partner with us. Through this initial encounter, Lea found a welcoming community and soon began attending our weekly outreach gatherings, which provided a safe space to really begin her faith journey. Lea also participated in our Alpha discipleship course, where she had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the Messiah.

Her face, once marked by sorrow, now radiated a joy she had never known before.

Many times, Lea would come to the meetings in tears, overwhelmed by her circumstances. She sought comfort in this community and peace from the Lord. At a recent Bible study in Jerusalem, where VOJI’s ministry is growing exponentially, she experienced the breakthrough in her faith journey. Moved deeply by the message of God’s love and the Gospel truth, Lea could no longer ignore the stirring in her heart. At that moment Lea surrendered her life to the Messiah. Her face, once marked by sorrow, now radiated a joy she had never known before.
