One of the most beautiful things we witness in ministry is how God often reveals His love through simple acts of compassion. Sometimes a bag of groceries, a caring conversation, or practical support during a difficult season becomes far more than assistance — it becomes a personal reminder that someone is seen, valued, and not forgotten.
This week, we received a deeply touching message from Elena, a single mother raising her young daughter, Sofia, here in Israel. About a year ago, Elena began attending our congregation, and since then, we have watched her relationship with the Lord grow in a sincere and beautiful way. Although she faces the daily challenges of raising her daughter alone, she continues to serve others faithfully, encouraging those around her, bringing friends to services, and looking for ways to bless those who are struggling.
Recently, with the faithful support of friends and partners like you, we were able to provide Elena and Sofia with groceries and a gift card to help meet their family’s practical needs. What may appear small from the outside became something deeply meaningful to her — a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness and care during a difficult season.
In a message she sent afterward, Elena shared these heartfelt words:
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the groceries and support. To me, this was such a real answer from the Lord and a beautiful reminder of His love. Thank you for listening to His voice and becoming a blessing to my family. I prayed especially for you and your loved ones, asking God to give you health, peace, and strength. May the Lord richly bless you for your kindness and your open hearts. With gratitude, Elena and my daughter Sofia.”
Her words beautifully reflect something we see again and again across Israel: ministry is not only about what happens during a service or from a pulpit. Very often, people first experience the love of God through compassion expressed in practical ways. Through someone choosing to care. Through generosity that restores dignity and brings hope back into weary hearts.
Scripture speaks often about God’s heart for widows, single mothers, vulnerable families, and those carrying heavy burdens alone. James 1:27 reminds us that true faith is revealed through caring for people in need, and time after time, we see how the Lord uses simple acts of kindness to impact lives far beyond what we can imagine.
What makes Elena’s story especially meaningful is that even as she walks through her own challenges, she continues to pour into others. Her life has become a testimony of restored hope becoming shared hope. A mother who was encouraged now encourages others. A heart strengthened by God now helps lead other hearts toward Him.
Thank you for continuing to stand with us as we serve families across Israel both practically and spiritually. Because of your faithful partnership, widows, single mothers, and struggling families are being reminded that they are not forgotten — by God or by His people.
Your support is helping bring both practical care and the hope of Yeshua to hearts across the land of Israel.
