Containers of Hope —
When Mercy Arrives in a Time of War

In the middle of war, help is never just help. It becomes relief for weary hearts, dignity for struggling families, and a reminder that they are not facing this crisis alone.

This week, we received a large container filled with clothing, shoes, and other essential supplies—practical aid that will now be distributed across Israel through a network of trusted organizations. From Ashdod to Eilat, and from Ashdod to communities near the northern borders, these items will reach people living under the daily strain of war. What arrived in this container was more than material support. It was comfort. It was encouragement. It was a tangible reminder that even in a season of fear and uncertainty, God is still moving through the compassion of His people.

When families are under pressure, when elderly people are spending long hours in underground shelters, and when mothers and fathers are doing everything they can to hold life together for their children, every act of compassion carries real weight. A pair of shoes matters. Warm clothing matters. A mattress matters. A food basket matters. In times like these, practical care becomes a lifeline. What may seem simple in peaceful times becomes deeply meaningful in wartime, because it meets urgent need while also speaking to the heart. It tells a weary mother she has not been forgotten. It tells an elderly survivor sheltering underground that someone still sees them. It tells families living under constant strain that mercy is still reaching them.

The needs across Israel are not distant or abstract. They are immediate, personal, and ongoing. War presses into every part of daily life. It disrupts routines, drains already-limited resources, increases fear, and leaves many vulnerable people struggling to meet even the most basic needs. For some, the burden is financial. For others, it is the emotional exhaustion of living day after day under pressure, uncertainty, and disruption. For many, it is both. In the middle of all this, tangible aid becomes more than assistance—it becomes a visible expression of God’s love, mercy, and faithfulness in a very dark hour.

This is what your generosity makes possible.

Because friends like you have chosen to stand with us, we are able to receive vital supplies and place them directly into the hands of people who need them most. We are able to respond quickly. We are able to strengthen the hurting. We are able to bring encouragement where weariness has settled in. We are able to show, in a practical and personal way, that the love of God is not distant, but present. Not abstract, but active. Not merely spoken, but demonstrated.

Thank you for standing with us in this hour. Thank you for helping us bring blessing in the midst of hardship. Thank you for helping us strengthen families, care for the elderly, and continue serving when the needs feel overwhelming. Your support is not a small thing. Right now, it is deeply significant and critically needed. Every gift helps us carry mercy farther. Every act of generosity helps us meet the realities people are facing today. And every expression of support becomes part of a much bigger testimony—that in the middle of war, God has not abandoned His people.

If you feel led to help, there are several simple ways you can stand with us. A gift of $50 provides one food basket for a family, and you can support as many families as you like. A gift of $60 provides one mattress for an individual or an elderly person sleeping in a bomb shelter, and you can support any number of individuals. Any gift toward Beit Hallel Congregation’s $35,000 annual bomb-shelter rent and utilities expenses helps keep this refuge open for families during the war, and through any other conflicts that may continue into 2026.

This is a time for practical mercy. A time to respond with compassion. A time to make sure vulnerable people are not left to carry this burden alone. More than ever, your help matters. Together, we can continue to deliver aid, extend comfort, and keep the doors of refuge open for those who need it most.

Thank you and God bless!
