Empty of Hatred

A generation filled with hate often struggles to find peace. A society fueled by hate often fosters violence and aggression which creates an environment where love and understanding are absent. It becomes increasingly difficult to express empathy or kindness. Healing requires breaking this cycle by embracing compassion instead.

Is There Hatred in Israel?
Since the October 7th massacre, many Israeli youth have faced significant emotional struggles. They are grappling with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty regarding their future. As the war lingers, the very real possibility of having to fight looms over their heads.  However, the greatest enemy they face is hatred. Something that is hard not to feel when members of your family or friends have been slaughtered in an unprovoked attack by an enemy that hates for who you are to God.

At our latest youth discipleship course held in the Sea of Galilee region, Israeli Pastor Israel Pochtar invited Arab Pastor Saleem Shalash to join forces and tackle this issue head on. Their goal was to create a new generation that is EMPTY OF HATRED through learning the power of LOVE and how it surpasses all boarders, nationalities and politics. It is the power to heal hearts and nations!

Forgiveness at The Galilee
Just days before the event, hundreds of missiles had flown overhead but by a miracle of God, the attacks stopped and a quiet had settled on the area. Pastor Saleem was able to teach the youth on the truth of the Bible and how we are called to love and bless our enemies.  It was a powerful message on REAL LOVE that touched the heart of every teen in attendance.

Forgiving those who wronged us requires courage. It shows us that vulnerability can lead to deeper connections and understanding. For these youth, learning about forgiveness and love from an Arab Pastor made an immense impact toward their healing.
