Terror Takes a Turn
WHAT THE ENEMY INTENDS FOR EVIL, GOD USES FOR GOOD!
Imagine being brand new to Jerusalem and on a tour as a new Olim (new Jewish immigrant). You’re hearing the Gospel message in the Holy Land and walking in the actual place where the Gospel was first preached, such as the Mount of Olives, the Upper Room, the Via Dolorosa, and the Temple Mount… but then the day takes a turn, and suddenly you are faced with TERROR!
Our group was making its way back to the bus when border police ran past toward Jaffa Gate, where a terrorist knife attack had unfolded. Safety is of utmost importance, so we decided to take a detour to avoid the area. This was an unplanned part of the day but ordained to happen as God made something beautiful from it.
Our detour led us to the lovely Christ Church compound, opposite the Tower of David Museum, where we enjoyed a hearty Israeli lunch together. As frightful as the situation was, God had a plan to use this time for His good. Fifteen new Olim were with us on this tour. Many had already made life-changing decisions to follow Yeshua after hearing testimonies from Ephraim, Miri, and Micha’el from Beit Hallel and received a new Bible as a gift from us.
This detour allowed us to have more time with the group. We were able to share even more about Jerusalem in Biblical history and the glorious, prophetic future that awaits this city of the Great King. We also were gifted more time to pray for the needs of the group members and for their loved ones. It was a blessed and adventurous day, with a number of people getting saved, and the rest given much to think about. We continue to pray for them and that the seeds sown into their hearts will bring forth much fruit.
You meant to do me harm, but God meant it for good – so that it would come about as it is today, with many people’s lives being saved.
Genesis 50:20 CJB (Complete Jewish Bible)
An important part of our work as ministers in the land of Israel is to connect new Jewish immigrants to their Biblical roots in the land of Israel. It makes such an impression on people to study the Word in the very place that it was written. They learn about Jesus and see the places where He performed miracles, healed the sick and preached the Word of God. Your partnership is multiplied by God in the way the people we serve are touched by what we do.
