Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
1 John 5:5
Today in Israel we’re facing a second wave of the coronavirus, and people are fearful of getting sick and they’re uncertain of what the future holds. People are fretting about their jobs and businesses which could be gone by tomorrow. People have so many questions, but God gives us wonderful promise in John 1:5:5. As believers in His son, Jesus Christ, Yeshua haMashiach, our victory is assured, both today and in the future!
The word for victory in Hebrew is “nitzachon.” It’s a powerful word. How do we see this victory manifest in our life though? It doesn’t just happen automatically, there is a pre-requisite to seeing God’s victory in our lives. Are you born of God? If you are, then you have overcome the word. As a born-again believer in Yeshua, you have this power inside you, a seed of God planted in your heart, enabling you to overcome this world. And this is the victory that has overcome the word our faith.
We see so many accounts in the Bible of how the people of God faced terrible odds and imminent defeat, and how they rose up against the odds and claimed victory by their faith in God. Today, I’m standing here in Jerusalem where so many of these biblical events took place. Right next to me are the ancient walls of ancient Jerusalem.
Jerusalem has so often seen armies come against her and God’s people, to lay waste to her and to crush the nation of Israel, and yet Jerusalem remains standing and the nation of Israel lives. God is faithful.
In today’s world we hear so many complaints from people and the media is continually bombarding us with negative and discouraging news. We need to challenge this trend through rising up in faith. God lifts our spirits and our heads when we speak faith-filled words, when we think faith-filled thoughts,
and when we put all of our trust in the Lord. As we choose this day to walk by faith and not by sight, we will see Yeshua’s victory, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the promises of God manifest in our lives.
Prayer:
Lord, bless you with his faith. Help me to remain focused on You, on Your Word, and on Your promises. Let me see victory in all my circumstances of my life, and may I overcome every challenge through faith in you, Yeshua.
Amen!
