There are moments when a biblical story stops feeling like ancient history and begins to feel startlingly present. Immediate. Personal. Prophetic. This year in Israel, the story of Esther became exactly that for us.
Months ago, our team began preparing a special Purim evangelistic outreach—a creative musical production built around Esther’s courage, God’s deliverance of the Jewish people, and His faithfulness in times of great uncertainty. Anticipation was building as musicians rehearsed, actors prepared, volunteers served, and hearts came together around one shared vision: to communicate hope through worship, creativity, and the truth of Scripture. But on the very day Purim arrived, war suddenly erupted, forcing us to cancel the event as Israel entered another painful and unstable chapter.
At the time, the disappointment was profound. But looking back now, it is clear that God had not canceled the story. He was unfolding it in His timing.
With the situation now more stable, we were finally able to hold the outreach, and what took place exceeded our expectations. More than 800 people gathered, not merely for a delayed Purim event, but to encounter its message at a moment when it carried even greater meaning than before. After months marked by war, fear, and uncertainty, the atmosphere was filled with joy, worship, emotion, laughter, and something many in Israel have deeply longed for: renewed hope and a sense of victory.
What made this year’s Purim outreach especially powerful was how dramatically the message had deepened over time. After war broke out with Iran—ancient Persia—the story of Esther took on a prophetic resonance unlike anything we had anticipated. What originally began as a creative evangelistic production became a vivid reminder that the God who preserved the Jewish people in Esther’s day remains faithful to Israel now.
As the story unfolded on stage, many were reminded that Purim is not merely about recalling an event from the past. It is about recognizing God’s faithfulness in every generation. The same God who watched over His people under the Persian Empire continues to watch over Israel today. The same Lord who raised Esther for a decisive moment is still calling ordinary men and women to stand with courage, conviction, and faith when darkness seems to press in.
We believe an Esther generation is rising in our day.
In a world marked by fear, confusion, hostility, and spiritual pressure, God is awakening believers who will not remain silent. Like Esther, they are beginning to understand that they have been placed in this generation with purpose. They are choosing prayer instead of passivity, courage instead of compromise, and obedience instead of comfort. They recognize that even when circumstances feel uncertain, God is still working behind the scenes, preparing redemption where others see only instability.
What made the evening especially meaningful was not just the production itself, but the story behind it. This outreach was born in interruption, disappointment, and war—yet in God’s timing, it was brought back to life. In many ways, that reflects the story of Israel itself. Time and again throughout history, what was intended for destruction has been transformed by God into testimony, preservation, and victory.
Long after the performance ended, people remained. Families stayed to talk. Conversations continued. Hearts were lifted. New relationships began. Seeds of faith were planted. Many who arrived expecting an artistic production encountered something far deeper: the presence of God, the warmth of community, and renewed hope for what lies ahead.
In seasons like this, creative evangelism becomes especially powerful.
Music, storytelling, worship, and the arts often reach hearts in ways traditional settings cannot. They create space for defenses to lower, conversations to begin, and unexpected encounters with the love of the Messiah to take place.
As we stood together that evening, reflecting on Esther’s message after such a difficult season, one truth became unmistakably clear: darkness never gets the final word. The God of Esther is still moving. He is still preserving His people. Still raising courageous voices. Still calling this generation to stand boldly for truth and light.
And perhaps now more than ever, we are witnessing the emergence of an Esther generation—for such a time as this.
