Katarina thought there was no coming back from losing her young son, Vadim. She had all but given up on God and anyone crossing her path who would truly understand the agonizing pain she was in. Health and financial problems added to Katarina’s grief that distanced her almost entirely from God.
Shared Pain A single mother in Israel, Katarina was clearly struggling to rebuild her life after leaving Ukraine. She had made Aliyah but felt so alone in this new land. An encounter with Voice of Judah Israel changed her life. Team leader, Miriam Ratner, who lost her own son David on Oct. 7, is the only one who could truly empathize with Katarina. The two women shared about losing their beloved sons at such young ages in life. As Katarina listened to Miriam share, she saw the pain in her eyes she knew all too well but sensed a peace that could only come from the Lord. In their shared pain, Katarina found the courage to seek God like never before.
Miriam asked her if the two could pray together. Katarina hesitated at first, but with a sigh that carried the weight of years of sorrow, she agreed. This was the moment Katarina felt the presence of God that would change her life. She found hope that had long been buried under grief and trials as the Holy Spirit pierced her heart. His love washed over Katarina in this divine moment, and she told Miriam she wanted to fully give her life to Yeshua. In prayer together again, this time was different. Katarina repented of her sins and fully surrendered her life to Him.
