From Sorrow to Joy – Our Purim Kids Project

What was meant for destruction was turned into deliverance. What began in fear ended in rejoicing. The book of Esther tells us that sorrow was transformed into gladness and mourning into a day of celebration. Purim is one of the most joyful celebrations on the Jewish calendar. Costumes, laughter, gifts, and sweet treats fill the streets of Israel. Behind the festivities lies a deeper story of reversal. As part of that celebration, the people were instructed to send gifts to one another and to bless the poor (Esther 9:22). Purim joy was never meant to remain private. Rather, it was meant to overflow.

You Can Change 500 Families

This is a significant message for this time in history in the Holy Land. The Israeli children have grown up in a season marked by uncertainty, tension, and realities far heavier than their young shoulders were ever meant to carry. Some of these children and their families have experienced displacement, sirens, news alerts, and economic strain. Adults may be able to process such things with some perspective, but children often have to absorb them in silence. Even still, they long for celebration and deserve joy, especially during Purim.

That is why Voice of Judah Israel’s Purim Kids Project matters so deeply this year. Our goal is to bless 500 children across the Land with special Purim gifts. At $20, you have the opportunity to return this joy and festive celebration to a family in need. Each gift not only contains sweets and treats but also a message that says, “You are seen. You are valued. You are not forgotten.” In times like these, that message carries weight.

Planting Seeds

In the story of Purim, God’s name is not mentioned directly, yet His hand is unmistakable. He was working behind the scenes long before the miracle became visible. In much the same way, when we invest in children, we may not see immediately what God will do. We trust that seeds are being planted. Please trust with us that the gift(s) you provide for this Purim will plant seeds in these children’s and their families’ lives.

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.”

Proverbs 3:27

Purim will be brighter because someone chose to give to our ministry for this cause. In a Land that has carried much sorrow, your gift will be that direct reversal for these families. This will be at time of joy and celebration even if just for a moment that will be tucked into their hearts for years to come. With help from our ministry partners, 500 gifts can become 500 reminders that hope still lives in this Land. Partner with VOJI today to give hope that really is of the Lord.
