God is Still Writing Your Story

God speaks purpose over us long before we understand anything about life. He knew your story before you were born. He knew your personality, your strengths, your struggles, and the challenges you would face.

His purpose for you didn’t begin the day you “got serious” about faith; it began long before.

The life of Samson is a story that illustrates how God works with real people — people who have strengths and weaknesses, moments of victory and moments of failure, and yet remain part of God’s plan. Samson’s journey began in the quiet hills of Zorah, where an angel appeared to his mother and spoke a calling over her unborn son. Even before Samson took his first breath, God had already set a purpose for his life.

Samson’s life also shows that having a calling doesn’t mean the journey will be simple. He made choices that took him far from what God intended — marrying a Philistine woman, living impulsively, trusting Delilah, and revealing the secret of his strength. Eventually, he ended up blind, captured, and humiliated.

From the outside, it looked like he had completely destroyed his destiny.

But…God never abandoned him. Even in the messy and broken chapters, the Spirit of the Lord still came upon Samson, and God was still able to work through his life. In his darkest moment — surrounded by enemies and at his weakest — Samson prayed: “Lord, strengthen me one more time.”

God answered him, giving him enough strength to finish the purpose He had spoken over Samson before he was born. Samson’s final act wasn’t defeat; it was redemption. His story reminds us that our mistakes do not erase God’s purpose.

God is faithful even when our path has been complicated or painful.

Samson’s life, as in many of Scriptures greatest heroes, points toward Yeshua. Just like Samson, Yeshua’s birth was announced by an angel. Both were set apart for a mission. Both were betrayed. Both stretched out their arms in their final moments. However, Samson’s victory was temporary, whereas Yeshua’s victory, was and is, complete and eternal. In Him, what is broken can be restored, and what feels lost can be redeemed.

All of us have those moments where we wonder if we missed our chance or lost our purpose. We think our mistakes disqualify us. But the Bible shows a different pattern. David failed. Joseph was thrown into a pit. Peter denied Yeshua three times. Moses ran away. Yet, God restored every one of them and used them in powerful ways. God does the same with us. He doesn’t give up on us, even when we have given up on ourselves.

The Scripture says it clearly:

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Jeremiah 33:3

God wants to speak to you. He wants to lead you. He wants to work through your life — in your family, your relationships, your community, and your nation. Even if people have given up on you, even if you’ve given up on yourself, God is still faithful. Let Samson’s story be your encouragement as you face your difficult times.  Remember; You are not forgotten. You are not disqualified. You have a purpose. You have a destiny.

God is still writing your story.
