God Knew the Prayer She Had Never Spoken Aloud

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments in ministry happen after the preaching has ended, when someone takes the time to stop, listen, and pray with another person.

That is exactly what happened during a recent evangelistic outreach in the Galilee, where a young Jewish immigrant couple experienced something they will not easily forget.

The husband and wife had recently made Aliyah to Israel with their two sons. As they joined the gathering and listened to Pastor Israel Pochtar share the Good News of Jesus, both were deeply moved. When he invited people to respond to the Gospel, they prayed aloud in repentance, taking their first steps of faith in Jesus.

But for the young mother, there was another moment waiting.

After the message, a member of the Beit Hallel ministry team approached her to pray. As she prepared to pray, she felt the Lord impress a very specific question on her heart.

“Have you been praying for a daughter?”

The young woman began to cry.

She and her husband already had two sons, but they had been longing for a little girl. The ministry team member knew nothing about their family or this personal desire.

Through her tears, the young mother answered, “Yes. We have two sons, and we dream of having a daughter.”

For this woman, who had only just responded to the Gospel, it was a deeply personal moment. She was beginning to discover that the God she was learning to trust knew her heart, including the prayers she had been carrying quietly.

The team member prayed with her, asking God to give her peace and trusting Him with the desire she had shared. Before they parted, they agreed to meet again for prayer, and the young mother expressed a desire to receive her own Bible.

That last detail is especially encouraging. What began with an invitation to hear the Gospel has opened the door to another conversation, another time of prayer, and an opportunity for this young family to continue learning about Jesus.

Through Voice of Judah Israel and our partnership with Beit Hallel Congregation, we are privileged to support evangelistic outreaches where Jewish people can hear the Good News and receive personal prayer and encouragement.

And while gatherings like these may bring hundreds of people together, each person comes with a story, a family, and hopes and struggles that others may know nothing about.

We are grateful that this young couple had the opportunity not only to hear the Gospel, but also to experience the personal care of believers who want to walk alongside them as they grow in faith.

Please join us in praying for this family. Pray that their new faith will grow strong, that they will continue seeking Jesus together, and that the next meeting with our ministry team will be another meaningful step in their journey.

Thank you for helping make these encounters possible and for standing with the work of sharing Jesus with the Jewish people in Israel.
