Is This How it Should Be? The journey for new Jewish immigrants in northern Israel was meant to be one of hope and new beginnings. For many, however, it has turned into a season of fear and hardship. Not only are these families adjusting to life in a new country, but they are also facing constant threat of daily missile or drone attacks from Hezbollah just across the Lebanese border.
Jewish immigrants have left everything behind from their previous life to move to Israel, fulfilling the prophecy of Jews returning to their homeland. For many, these families fled the country and everyone they knew. In fact, these Olim (immigrants) may have come with little more than the clothes on their backs. So, here they are with next to nothing, possibly fleeing from one war-torn area, to now living in Israel just across the border from a country trying to destroy them. As if those challenges aren’t enough to make them question why they came to Israel, winter is fast approaching, and these families lack essentials for this cold time of year. Would you like to do something to help warm their lives, as well as their spirits, as the chill of this season takes over?
