In one moment, everything changed. I had already served my three years but now, I had been called as a reserve soldier. I immediately left my family and went to defend my country against the evil that had invaded.
It’s a tough experience, surviving war. Although this is not the first time that I’ve been in a war, this one feels totally different. This is something that I have never faced before and being a pastor in the middle of a war this big, is a challenge. A typical day in the Israeli army is hard to describe. You never really know how it will start and how it will end. I did so many different things, every day was a new challenge and experience.
Sometimes, it was weeks until I got to see my family, but other times, it was only a few days. It was always different times, depending on the position I was assigned to at the time. When I was stationed at the northern border, I used to come home often. However, I was mostly assigned to Southern Israel and daily went into Gaza. There, I was deployed for many days without being able to see them. I praised God for every minute I was given to see and be with them.
I would like all my brothers and sisters in the United States to know that now more than ever,
