Leah’s journey to Life

LEAHS JOURNEY TO LIFE

The alarming reality is that most Israelis have never heard of Yeshua or have been told who He is. It is estimated only 1.9% of the population in Israel are believers. Many have never met a true disciple of Jesus/Yeshua who has shown the love of Yeshua in practical ways and been able to answer some of their intellectual objections. This is why is so important they are given an opportunity to be exposed to Believers who will show them the love of Yeshua while giving them the truth they so desperately need.

One such person is Leah. Recently arriving in Israel as a Jewish refugee from Western Ukraine, Leah and her son settled in the city of Ashdod. The transition was very difficult, and through their process of integration at a local absorption center, Leah came to hear about VOJI/Beit Hallel. She was told we provide help to new immigrant families, both practically and spiritually.

Leah became very excited about the prospect of seeing other new immigrants and refugees from Ukraine. She immediately contacted us to see if VOJI could do anything to help her and her son. She was welcomed to visit our distribution center where she could get food, clothing, and household items. We also invited her to join one of our Gospel outreach events where she could meet others like herself struggling to fit into Israeli life.

On the day of the event, Leah joined the group of about 300 new Jewish immigrants on a tour of the Holy City of Jerusalem.

She spent the day on a guided tour of the Biblical sites where Yeshua and His Disciples walked, hearing the stories of His wisdom and miraculous healings. She was amazed to learn that Yeshua was a Jew, just like her. She had never such things before!

Later that day, she followed the group into a large auditorium and was touched by the music they sang during the worship time. Pastor Israel Pochtar soon began speaking and talking about this Yeshua who came to save her, she felt something stirring in her heart. She knew this is what she had been looking for! During the altar call at the end of the meeting, Leah took a step of faith. She repented of her sins and received Yeshua as her Lord and Savior!

The seeds of God’s Word that had been sown into her heart now came alive all at once. Leah’s journey of discovery suddenly shifted into a higher gear as she was born-again. Her life has been completely changed. She once was afraid and uncertain, now she stands firm in the peace and security that only God can provide.

Leah has joined our Shabbat services and a home group. She reads her bible daily as she is growing in the Lord. What a joy it is when even one of the lost sheep are found and returned to the Shepherd. We are so blessed to be a part of Leah’s journey to life.
