Sometimes the darkest valleys of pain and loss become the very places where God’s light breaks through. Miriam had just lost her 45-year-old daughter, leaving behind young grandchildren. Overnight, she found herself grieving both the loss of her child and carrying the heavy responsibility of caring for the little ones left behind. Her heart was shattered, and her spirit felt crushed.
Ashes To Beauty
In her heartbreak, she attended Voice of Judah Israel’s recent evangelism event. Our follow-up team reached out to her after the event and found a women broken to the core in need of hope. While the Holy Land has been faced with so much uncertainty and hardship, Miriam’s personal tragedy made her feel an unbearable weight. In this lowest of valleys, God met her there.
As our follow-up team listened and cared for her, they gently shared the hope of the Gospel.
They told her about Yeshua – the One who carried our sorrows, the One who turns ashes into beauty and mourning into joy. As Miriam listened, her tears didn’t stop, but something shifted. Hope began to stir. She realized there was a way out of her deep despair, that a Savior who understood her grief was reaching out to her with love.
Grief To Peace
In this moment, she prayed with our team, repented and received Yeshua as her Lord and Savior. Our ministry gave her a Bible and showed her how to begin reading God’s Word. She gladly accepted the invitation to stay in touch, attend Bible studies and be part of a spiritual family where she would never have to walk alone again. The transformation was immediate and visible. Miriam had come to us broken and heavy with grief, but she left with peace and even a smile on her face. Hope had taken root in her heart, and joy started to replace sorrow.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18
Hopeless to Hope
This is the power of the Gospel in action. A grieving grandmother, once overcome by loss and hopelessness, encountered the living God and walked away with salvation and joy. Thanks to the faithfulness of our follow-up team, she is now surrounded by care, discipleship and the love of her new spiritual family. The Lord used our ministry to bring her to hope in Him.
Join us today in this mission to reach Israelis like Miriam with the life-changing hope of the Gospel.
