Partnering for Good

For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.

Ezekiel 36:24

It’s impossible to read the Bible without encountering promise after promise of God’s restoration of Israel. The emphasis is always on the return of the people to their land. A promise that is being fulfilled today as thousands return to the land promised to their forefathers.

Aliyah is similar to immigration but has a rather unique component to it. It is a return of a displaced people to their home country rather than just a switching of countries. It is a “gathering” of God’s people being brought back to their inheritance, as spoken of in Ezekiel.

When we speak about supporting Olim (returning Jews), it is partnering with God in fulfilling His ancient promise given through prophets to His people. Israel has an intricate role in God’s plan of what is yet to come. They are proof of God’s faithfulness. If His promises to them were as sure as the stars in the sky, His promises to us are just as steadfast.

How could we not support something that directly supports God’s will, promise and purpose? They are our brothers through the covenant of Abraham. “The Bible tells us our salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22). The New Testament was written by Jewish disciples. In reading the New Testament, we are experiencing a blessing from The Jews. How can we not return such a wonderful blessing in kind?

God is a God of partnerships. In His Word, we are given instructions to care for the less fortunate, the widows, orphans, the poor, and the weak. We are a model of His heart and His compassion for the world to see. With God’s help, we can do things we could never do for ourselves. But, He also requires our help. We are to be active participants in His plans for His people.

One of the ways you can participate is by actively supporting the returning Olim in Israel. These new immigrants often struggle during their first season in Israel, facing challenges that often seem insurmountable. Putting food on the table sometimes becomes a luxury. This is a time when our partnership matters the most.

Our Humanitarian Aid Program is designed to come alongside these families, helping them integrate into their new lives by providing assistance with food, clothing, household items, and other practical items. We want them to know they are not alone. By partnering with them, we share in their struggles and show them the love they desperately need at this time in their lives.

Unfortunately, the children of these families are the ones who often suffer the most. They watch as their parents scrape together pennies to feed their families and pay their bills, knowing there will not be extra to buy the things they will need to start the new school year. It is a time of anxiety for both the parent and the child.

Our “First Time to School in Israel” summer project seeks to provide these families with backpacks, school supplies, and textbooks for the new school year. Most of these kids are enrolling in school for the first time in Israel. How can we better love them than to equip them with the tools and supplies they will need to start their school year off right?

A donation of $100 provides one child with a backpack, school supplies, and some textbooks they need for the upcoming school year, but no matter how big or small, your contribution will make a difference.

Please consider supporting Aliyah and returning Jewish families to Israel!  When you bless Israel, you are partnering with the Lord to see His prophecies come true.
