The City Without Walls

Jesus’s return is imminent and as believers, we are eagerly awaiting that blessed day. We will not know the day or hour but if we read Scripture, we do know where He will return to establish His Kingdom. According to prophecy, Jesus will return to rule from the city of Jerusalem, restoring it to its former glory and establishing a new era of peace and prosperity. This promise is echoed throughout Scripture, including in Zechariah 2, which speaks of the Lord’s protection over Jerusalem and its people.

He is the Wall
Zechariah 2 is a prophetic passage that declares that the people will be so numerous in Jerusalem that it will become a city without walls for protection. Instead, it proclaims the Lord Himself will be its Wall of Protection (Zechariah 2:4-5). This is significant, as it highlights the Lord’s commitment to protecting His people. In the Old Testament, Jerusalem was a physical city that represented the presence of God among His people. However, in the New Testament, Jesus reveals that He is the ultimate fulfillment of this prophecy. As the Messiah, Jesus became the Wall of Protection for all believers, shielding us from spiritual harm and guiding us in our walk with God.
