Hanukkah, known as the Festival of Lights, celebrates God’s miracle during the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem. When the Maccabees regained the Temple, they found only one day’s worth of oil — yet God made it burn for eight days, until new oil could be brought to keep the lamps burning.
Because of this, Hanukkah has become a season that symbolizes: God’s faithfulness, Light overcoming darkness and Miracles in times of need. It reminds us that even the smallest flame can break through darkness. Isaiah resonates this powerful truth:
“If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom be as the noonday.”
Isaiah 58:10
This is exactly what we want to be doing in this time of year— letting God’s light shine through acts of love, generosity, and compassion It is a celebration of hope — a message desperately needed by many of the recently repatriated families adjusting to a new life in Israel.
Shining the Light
This Hanukkah, we have a beautiful opportunity to bless new immigrant families who have recently arrived in the Land. These precious families are part of the ongoing fulfillment of biblical prophecy as God continues gathering His people home from the nations.
Many of them are still finding their footing — facing a new language, new schools, and new routines, often with very limited resources. Celebrating Hanukkah is not always possible while trying to rebuild a new life from the ground up.
This is where we step in.
We are called to share the joy, light, and love of God to those around us. This Hanukkah we can miracle of light to these struggling families by letting His love shine through us.
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
A Celebration for 400 Kids and Their Families
We are preparing a special Hanukkah celebration for 400 kids along with their parents. We want each child and parent to feel welcomed, valued, and encouraged during this season.
During this celebration we will share the message of God’s miracles and the hope that Hanukkah represents — light in the midst of darkness and God’s care for every family and every child. This is a moment to sow love and hope into the lives of families who are still adjusting to their new home in Israel.
Help Shine His light in Israel this Holiday season. Your gifts will mean so much to a child in need!
1. Sponsor a Child’s Hanukkah Gift Pack — $14.00 (USD)
Each child will receive a festive gift pack filled with treats, toys, and meaningful items that brighten their holiday. $ 14 blesses one child with joy, encouragement, and a warm experience of Hanukkah in their new homeland.
2. Sponsor a Family’s Hanukkah Food Basket —$27.00 (USD)
Many immigrant families attending our celebration are struggling financially. One $27.00 food basket filled with celebratory foods can help a family enjoy this holiday with dignity and joy.
Your support directly blesses children and families — giving them light in a time when many feel overwhelmed and alone.
Your Support Matters
For new immigrant families, finances are stretched thin as they juggle rent, groceries, transportation, and the many costs of starting over. Holiday celebrations are often pushed aside simply because there is no budget for them. But together, we can make sure these children and their parents experience a Hanukkah filled with warmth and joy.
As Pastor Israel shared: “God gave us an amazing opportunity to be a blessing for Israel. Let’s bless the children, bless their families, and bring light into the darkness. Let’s do it together — and we will see so many smiles and a beautiful celebration of life.”
Your prayers and generosity will help create a celebration overflowing with joy, hope, and the presence of God.
Will you sponsor one child — or one family — this Hanukkah? You can be their hope found in Hanukkah this year. Every gift will place joy into a child’s hands — and peace into a family’s heart.
Thank you for standing with Israel, for caring for new immigrant families, and for helping us bring Hanukkah light to 400 kids this year.
Shalom from Israel, and Happy Hanukkah!
