The Nation of Israel at 78:
A Living Testimony of God’s Faithfulness

As Israel approaches its 78th Independence Day, we are not just marking a national milestone—we are witnessing something that points far beyond history itself. For those of us who love the Bible and take God’s Word seriously, Israel’s story is not simply political or cultural. It is deeply spiritual. It is a living testimony that what God speaks, He fulfills.

The prophet Isaiah once asked a question that still carries weight today:

“Can a nation be born in a day?”

Isaiah 66:8

In 1948, the modern State of Israel came into existence in a single moment—against all odds and expectations. But this moment did not begin in 1948. It began thousands of years earlier, with promises spoken by God, carried through generations, preserved through exile and suffering, and brought to fulfillment in His perfect timing.

The vision given to Ezekiel—of dry bones coming back to life—was never just symbolic. Today, we are watching that reality unfold. Jewish people from around the world are continuing to return to their ancestral homeland. A people once scattered is being regathered, just as Scripture declared. This is not coincidence. This is covenant.

At the same time, we recognize that Israel’s place in the world is complex.

In a culture shaped by shifting opinions and strong narratives, Israel is often misunderstood and heavily scrutinized. But Scripture never suggested that God’s purposes would be measured by public approval. Israel was not called to be popular—it was called to be part of God’s unfolding plan.

And when we step back and look honestly at what has taken place, the picture is remarkable. In less than eight decades, Israel has grown into a nation known globally for innovation, resilience, and creativity. From advances in agriculture and water technology to breakthroughs in medicine and science, the impact of this small nation reaches far beyond its borders. Its population continues to grow, its society remains vibrant, and even in the face of ongoing challenges, there is a deep sense of perseverance and forward movement.

These realities point to something deeper. The survival and growth of Israel cannot be explained by favorable conditions alone. It reflects the faithfulness of God.

That is why moments like this call for clarity.

Trends will change. Headlines will come and go. But God’s Word does not shift. To stand with Israel is not about following what is popular—it is about recognizing what God is doing. It is about seeing beyond the noise and understanding that His promises are still active and unfolding in our time.

As it is written,

“Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad with her”

Isaiah 66:10

This invitation is not rooted in perfect circumstances, but in the certainty of God’s faithfulness.

And this is where it becomes personal.

Because Israel’s story is not isolated—it speaks to all of us. It reminds us that God keeps His promises. That He restores what was scattered. That He sustains what He calls. When we see Israel standing, we are reminded that no word of God ever falls to the ground.

The same God who restored a nation is at work today—in Israel, and in every life that trusts in Him.

So as Israel turns 78, we celebrate more than history. We celebrate a testimony. A testimony that God is faithful. A testimony that His promises are alive. A testimony that what He begins, He brings to completion.

And that includes your story too.
