The multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God.”
Luke 5:1
For believers around the world, the Sea of Galilee is one of the most treasured places in Scripture. It was here that Yeshua called His first disciples, taught the crowds, calmed the storm, healed the sick, and revealed the Kingdom of God. Every shoreline, hillside, and fishing village tells the story of His earthly ministry. Yet today, these same shores are witnessing another remarkable work of God.
Across Israel, we are seeing a growing spiritual hunger. The Jewish people have returned to their ancient homeland, and in the very region where Yeshua once ministered, more Israelis are seeking God, opening His Word, and discovering the hope found in the Messiah. While the headlines often focus on conflict and uncertainty, God continues to work quietly but powerfully in the hearts of His people.
For many years, the Sea of Galilee has also become an important place for the ministry of our congregation in Israel, Beit Hallel. It is here that Israeli believers gather to worship together, build genuine friendships, and demonstrate the reconciliation that is only possible through Yeshua. In a region often marked by division, the Gospel continues to unite people from different backgrounds into one family in the Messiah.
The Galilee has also become a place where the next generation is being equipped.
Through discipleship, leadership training, and times of worship and fellowship, young believers are growing in their faith and preparing to share the Good News across Israel. Pastors and ministry leaders are likewise being strengthened to faithfully serve their communities. These are not simply gatherings or conferences—they are opportunities to invest in lives that will shape the future of the Body of Messiah in Israel.
Perhaps most encouraging of all is the fruit of evangelism. In the Galilee where multitudes once gathered to hear Yeshua, many continue to hear the Gospel proclaimed. Through public outreaches, personal conversations, and faithful discipleship, lives continue to be transformed. New congregations are growing, believers are maturing in their faith, and Jewish and Arab followers of Yeshua are learning to walk together in unity.
When we read Luke’s account of the crowds pressing in to hear the Word of God, it reminds us that the spiritual hunger of two thousand years ago has not disappeared. The same Lord who called fishermen to become fishers of men is still drawing people to Himself. The Sea of Galilee is more than a place to remember the past—it is a place where we are witnessing God move once again.
As you pray for Israel, please remember the Sea of Galilee, the Galilee region, and the Golan Heights.
Pray for the congregations serving throughout northern Israel. Pray for Jewish and Arab communities to encounter the love of the Messiah. Pray for pastors, evangelists, and young leaders who are faithfully proclaiming the Gospel, and ask the Lord to continue raising up disciples who will carry His message to the next generation.
Thank you for standing with us as we share the hope of Yeshua across Israel. Your prayers and faithful partnership are helping make it possible for more people to hear the Gospel, grow in their faith, and experience the transforming love of the Messiah. We believe the story God began along these shores is still unfolding, and we are grateful that you are part of it.
Blessings and Shalom,
Pastor Israel
