Things are Heating Up!

Israeli summers can be brutal! With temperatures often soaring over 100°, the need for air conditioning is not just a comfort, but a matter of life and death. Dehydration, heat stroke, headaches, and nausea are just a few of the serious health risks that the heat can cause in a short amount of time. We urgently need YOUR HELP to prevent these dangers from becoming a reality in our church!

Secure yet Harmful
Our newest VOJI/Beit Hallel church in Ashkelon recently moved to a renovated bomb shelter we converted into a congregational facility. It has been a blessing for those attending our weekly services and prayer meetings, especially when the sirens sound to warn of incoming missiles. There is peace in knowing our congregation is safe and secure from harm. However, there is now another danger they are currently facing: the extreme heat.
 
With the intense Israeli summer in full swing, the failing Air Conditioning system at our Ashkelon church has made it practically intolerable to be inside. The lack of proper air conditioning has turned our sanctuary into an unbearable sauna, forcing many to stay at home and miss out on the community and fellowship from worshipping together. This situation could eventually lead to the closure of the church, which is exactly what the enemy wants! 

Numbers are Down
It has also negatively affected our humanitarian projects and weekly food distribution to needy people in the community. Our staff and volunteers are risking their health by trying to work in these dangerously high temperatures. Their dedication is valuable to us, and ensuring their safety is vital to sustaining their commitment to our ministry.
 
This is where YOU come in! Our current AC system is failing and without a properly functioning system, it’s impossible to continue operating from that building. We received a quote from the AC technician to replace all the units in our main hall, which would cost $2500. This repair would enable us to resume all our projects, meetings and services that many are missing because of the lack of air conditioning in the blazing summer heat.
 
Please prayerfully consider giving to replace these AC units at our Ashkelon Congregation. We cannot let the enemy get a foothold in the work God is doing in this growing church. When we work together, we make amazing things happen for the Kingdom of God.
