Weekly Torah Reading with Pastor Israel —Cleansing, Restoration, and New Life (Leviticus 12–15)

How does God bring healing where there has been separation?
In this week’s Torah Reading, Pastor Israel Pochtar explores Leviticus 12–15 and reveals a powerful truth: God’s heart is not only to cleanse—but to restore people fully.

These chapters show us that holiness is not about distance from people, but about renewal, healing, and bringing people back into community through the grace of God.

Through it all, we see Yeshua—the One who touches the unclean, restores dignity, and makes broken lives whole again.

This week’s Torah Reading from Leviticus 12–15 takes us into one of the most misunderstood sections of Scripture—laws about purification, skin conditions, and restoration. At first glance, it can feel distant from everyday life. But underneath these instructions is a deeply personal message about how God deals with brokenness.

This portion teaches us that God cares about the whole person—body, soul, and spirit.
Purification after childbirth reminds us that life is sacred and that God is present even in the most ordinary moments of life. The examination of skin conditions shows that God looks deeper than appearances. He is concerned with what is happening beneath the surface—with the heart, the hidden places, and the areas that need healing.

Most importantly, the restoration process reveals that God’s goal is never permanent separation. When someone was healed, they were not left outside. They were brought back in—restored to family, to worship, and to community. This is the heart of redemption. And this is exactly what we see in Yeshua.

He touched those others avoided. He healed those who were pushed aside. He restored people not only physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and socially. This Torah portion reminds us that God does not simply expose brokenness—He makes restoration possible. For all of us, this is good news. No matter where healing is needed, God’s desire is renewal, wholeness, and restored relationship.
