Chaim looked at Avi and said, “Are you sure you want to do this? You’re about to enter the army. Wouldn’t you rather go into battle under the protection of God, knowing you walk with Him, no matter what comes?”
This ominous question came after Chaim’s initial invitation was declined to lead Avi and his wife, Galina, in the prayer of repentance. The young couple were invited to a small gathering at Voice of Judah Israel’s ministry by a faithful believer, Avi’s mother. Avi had stepped into a church as a child but now as an adult, he was far from faith. Like so many young Israelis today, he and Galina had grown up without ever truly hearing the Gospel. You help to change that trend when you invest in VOJI. The trajectory upon which the Holy Land is headed is transformed when you sow into this generation of young adult Israelis.
New Wine The conversation at this gathering started light over tea but shifted to deeper issues of life, brokenness and hope. Chaim opened the Scriptures to read the words of Yeshua from Matthew 9:17: “Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Chaim shared how the “old wineskin” represents our sinful nature, inherited from Adam. True transformation begins only when we repent and allow God to make us new.
