A father’s heart, a community’s support and the power of prayer – could there be a much stronger or more powerful combination? When going through a challenging time in life, God urges us to not go it alone. Strength is in numbers and Oleg is living proof.
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12
Strength in Numbers Oleg’s life is testament to the power of having a supportive community when life gets tough. During his first encounter at VOJI’s food distribution project in Ashkelon, Beit Hallel leaders quickly learned he carried a burdened and heavy heart. He was with his son, Alex, one of his triplets, at this initial meeting. Oleg’s triplets all have cerebral palsy, and his wife had divorced him. He shared with the team how much he was struggling with not only his circumstances, but more so the weight he shouldered.
Recognizing the deep need for spiritual support, Beit Hallel leaders invited Oleg to join the Alpha Course, our discipleship program, to explore his faith. In this welcoming environment, this father was encouraged to ask questions and learn more about Yeshua. He was in agony over the challenges of having triplets with such intense challenges and with his wife divorcing him. The pain was almost too much to bear. His deepest concern was with Alex because he knew how much his son needed God.
